circle cutting jig - anyone have any good plans, pictures, ideas?

Like the title says. I am looking to make a circle cutting jig for my band saw... would like it to be adjustable for difference sizes

This is just my idea of what i would make for my bandsaw. Just came up with it and drew it after I read your post so it's kind of rough. I think it gets the idea across though.

I would make the part that clamps to the table as long as your table and put another short 2" or 3" piece to help reference center. As for how to attach the work piece I drew in a t-track which you can easily create either a pin that goes directly into the work piece or you can create a block that you double side sticky to your work piece.

And because I cant seem to figure out to attach a file to my post here is a link to the drawing.

i see plans for these all the time in wood working books just got to the library or book store and start browsing. or do some leg work and see what you an find on here. realy its a prity common jig as far as band saw jigs are concerned.

I have one for my bandsaw. It is super simple and works amazingly well. I'll take a picture and post it tonight. All you need it a single board, a couple C clamps, and some 1/4" dowel.

I've cut many circles using it on my band saw.

That is the most ingeniously simple circle jig I've ever seen! I really like it! There are a few that use the miter slot to hold onto the saw that I saw a few days ago on youtube. You may want to check them out.

After watching the video posted above I think I am going to add a rail to go into the mier slot.

The simplest solution is the best solution.

Here is the one I built and use, works great. Uses some scrap plywood, 2x4, some 1bys and some miter t-bar and track. if you have questions just let me know.

that jig is huge.........wonder if it can be moved to the back so it can be a outfeed table for the saw.

actually it wasn't that i didn't clear my clipboard. the link that was posted was a tinyurl that was a localhost url. the port that was show was not because i posted a link to porn. it was because it was on the local computer its self. It would have shown differently for everyone because of the localhost url. I am sorry that happened and it will not happen again.

I make my bs circle cutting jig to ride in the miter slot, with a stop under the edge of the jig, that stops the jig, when the pivot is in line with the teeth of the blade.

With a jig, that you feed into the blade, you don't have to start the cut, at a spot, that is the exact diameter of the circle. Just start the cut, as you feed the jig. When the stop, on the underside of the jig hits the table and stops, start turning the work piece, to cut the circle.

Works great.

I used the same design for the router table.
