Jodavis
ty, i can see great 20/10 vision but the 1st 2 days i felt like i had sand in my eyes. now they burn like i have sweat in my eyes its pretty annoying but i guess its part of the healing process when someone shoots you in the eyes with a laser. thewoodwhisperer
When I did it, they had to cut a flap in the eye, then shoot me with a laser. I am all too familiar with that sand in the eyes feeling Fortunately it does heal fast though.
Jodavis
Ok so i had set back today with the endvise and the dovetails. Lets just say i got sloppy with a chisel. so as a result no dovetails Anyways i moved on and got alot done today. i ended up bolting on the endvise cap the photos only show it pre cleanup it looks alot better now after some cleanup no pictures for that i also cut the 2 slabs to final length and finished flatening the rear slab and chamfering all the edges all of the pieces. 2 slabs are done except for the dog holes which im going to do after the base is assembled. Jodavis
Also I must say my grizzly sliding table saw is awesome. I just bought it so this is the first project I've had a chance to use it. There's no way I could have cut the end of those slabs on my old jet contractor saw. To be able to crosscut that slab one handed is cool. I put the rolling stands for added support but it was able to hold the slab without. And believe me when I say those slabs are heavy
Steve Lyde
I see you have a Grizzly planar, how do you like it?

Jodavis
so heres what i got done today the legs had some twist to them so i used my jack plane to hit the high spots on 2 sides and milled them square on my planer. I cut the legs to length and chamfered the feet. Then i laid out all the mortises for the base drilled them out then cleaned them up with my chisels. thats all for today folks. Jodavis
So it been a few day since ive been able to sit down and post but i have been whittling away at it. I finished drilling out all of the draw bore holes, holdfasts holes & mortises in the legs and paired them out with my chisels Then i cut and fit all of the tenons for the base
Jodavis
Then i assembled the base made sure everything was square and placed it on the upsidedown slabs to mark the mortise locations then i cut the mortises Then of course i had to flip everything over mount the top and see how it looked and man that was satisfying So Saturday ill be doing the leg vise and chop. later all
