Brendon_t
so on my recent first trip to Rockler in Pasadena I ended up walking up and down just about every row just to see what they offered. When I came to the veneer section I was absolutely blown away by how expensive more sheets of veneer is. they had numerous assortments of nice looking veneer in the 30 to 50 dollar price.. For example a pack of 4 pieces of 1/42nd of an inch lace wood veneer each one square foot was fetching $42.00. I walked over to the lumber racks and found a for a board foot section of lacewood for $46. I understand cutting veneer has a cost associated with it but the yield of veneer from a single tree is much higher that the yield of cutting four quarter lumber. have the veneer manufacturers just cornered the market knowing there are some projects you just cannot use solid hardwood on? Pwalter5110
Look on ebay. You can get 20 sheets of curly maple for $25. There is a lot on there.
Michael Schaefer
I've bought from http://www.veneersupplies.com/with good luck in the past. I think that is the place Marc referenced in the Humidor build.
Brendon_t
I really wasn't looking for veneer, this Shere price for the goods you're actually receiving just made me balk. I just can't wrap my head around it
