dc_taylor
I have a new commission that requires some simple shape carving. Nothing complex. I have a basic set of carving chisels from my dad, but no experience. Does anyone recommend good books, videos, woodworkers who review basic carving skills and techniques? mds2
Check out youtube. If you just search "How to carve wood" you will find a bunch of videos showing technique.
TerryMcK
I picked up this book from Fine Woodworking for free a few years back. It is old but good - full of great advice and tutorials.http://www.amazon.com/Carving-Fine-Woodworking-On/dp/0918804523
