Tpt life Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 This is in the off topic portion because it is a cheeeeeap garden bow saw. It cuts to the left so badly that it binds. I can brace the blade to force it straight but I'd rather not. Has anyone ever tuned this type of saw? I know there are better pruning saws out there but this one is already in my possession. Quote
wdwerker Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 Look at the set of the teeth. Might be able to bend a few teeth to straighten the cut. Every other tooth should lean the opposite way, or sometimes left straight right straight left etc etc. Quote
Dave H Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Are you sure the teeth aren't duller on one side than the other. I've never tried to sharpen a bow saw blade I've just bought another blade. Quote
Tom Crawford Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Does the bow allow you to tension the blade well? Quote
Tpt life Posted May 30, 2013 Author Report Posted May 30, 2013 Help me know how to gauge this. It is a lever action tensioner that seems stiff but I can still roll the blade a bit. I would liken it to hacksaw tension. Quote
