G S Haydon Posted August 25, 2013 Report Share Posted August 25, 2013 Drawbore would be just fine although it is less usual in door construction. More likely to be found in the frame surrounding door where normally the tenon is open (bridle joint) and cramping is more difficult. On that frame joint we normally have a screw passing through the outside edge of the frame (never seen once fitted) into the tenon shoulders, clamping and securing the open joint nicely. +1 on looking cool, especially on some gothic influenced stuff. The door parts in the picture were for new doors that I made to replace the other doors that failed that were made with loose tenon joinery. Some pics of the doors I just made and installed.
