Quick question is there a feature someplace on the web site that allows you to jump to the first unread post per topic when returning?

Click the little orange/red arrow next to the topic title..

If what Sac said isn't working for you, make sure you are logged in. Although I'm pretty certain the little orange box isn't displayed when not logged in.

Upper right hand corner, just below the search box when you get into the main forum page. "View New Content"

I've recently been looking for how to do this, and I found this post.  I don't see the little orange arrow. Am I missing something, or has the forum software changed since this thread was created?

Yes the forum software changed since the original answers.

You need to click on the New Content link

There is a further way to filter what you want to see in the line of boxes that appear at the top of the new content page then.

He's not looking for new content, Terry...he's looking to jump to the first unread post in a thread that he's already visited.

For threads that you have not posted in, there will be a little blue dot to the left of the thread title.  For threads that you have posted in, it will be a little blue star.  Click on either of those instead of the thread title and it will jump to your first unread post.

In either case you have to be logged in for that to work.

And just for the record, that has been buggy off and on lately. (Not tied to the forum move. I have not seen this since the forum move.) I have not seen it enough to report it as an ongoing problem. I think I see it most often in that 83 page hijack thread. Occasionally even the blue dot or star will just load the first post and require some navigation. Just occasionally, and maybe only on large threads.

Excellent - thanks Eric.  I've seen the blue dot but didn't realize it was clickable.
