reepss
This is a project that I recently finished and posed on Lumber Jocks. It was made for my wife for our anniversary. It is made from Sapele, maple, zebrawood and lacewood. It is based on a cabinet that Krenov built in the late 80's. All comments and critiques are welcome.
iSawitFirst
Wonderful design and execution. I haven't found the Lacewood yet. Door panels? The blue driveway really sets off the colors. Happy anniversary.
iSawitFirst
Oh wait. Are the drawer pulls Lacewood?
reepss
Yes the drawer pulls are lace wood, and I forgot to mention the zebrawood drawers have cherry sides
Vic
It's a beautiful Krenov piece and very well executed, but I'm thinking it's about two species too many. At least from everything I've read, three is the most that should be used in one piece. Love the contrast between the Maple and Sapele!!! AceHoleInOne
Awesome work, construction, beautiful straight grain of the wood. :) :) The distraction for me is the grain of the wood above the door, much prefer if it was straight grain. But that is just me! Very nice!!!!!!!!!!! -Ace-
jimmykx250
I have to ask- how many hours do you have in it? That is a stunning piece!
reepss
I would estimate that I have about 180 hrs into building and finishing it.
timmahoney34
I like the contrast of the woods you used. Something different from what I normally see for this type of cabinet. Very nice and new looking for today.
lighthearted
Beautiful Piece--great attention to detail. I agree about the grain direction over the door. It is a little distracting. I would like to have seen the door panels in a lighter finish--contrast = interest. again--awesome job--i look forward to when I can build a quality piece like this.
