Brendon_t
So I recently upgraded from an aluminum old craftsman box saw to a gently used long time stored delta 36-650. I brought it home and took about everything I could apart for a good deep cleaning and reassembled. I used marcs setup video to tune it up the best I could. I decided to make a few test cuts in some old oak and I realized that the blade was not holding a true height. If the knob on the lever was anywhere but the 6 o'clock position, while running, the knob will rotate (bringing the blade up or down with it to the 6 o'clock spot. I don't see a place to lock down the setting. Any ideas? Keep in mind I am pretty new to the terminology here so about 6th grade level explanations would be great. . wdwerker
There should be a knob in the center of the height adjusting hand wheel . You tighten it to lock the height. There may be trash junking up the threads preventing it from working or maybe the part has failed. I would compare it to the exploded parts diagram. Tpt life
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/delta-36650-type-table-saw-parts-c-3275_3334_13634.html Page "B" part 273. Like Steve said. Mine is many models earlier but the principle is the same. And welcome to the forum!

Hey we do mistakes and second (and third!) chances here. PS....we're all rookies...at something....even Steve, though with him it gets a little harder to find something new he hasn't done. Brendon_t
Thanks guys. I actually hand tightened it down and it does not lock the height down. I guess I'm going to need to open up the assembly and see what must be worn out.
