Chet
A number of years ago I had asked for and received a lathe for Christmas. It is the Jet JWL 1236. As time went by I never really pursued using it much. I have probably put no more then ten sticks of wood on the thing the whole time I have had it basically just trying it out. Even though at the time I thought it would be enjoyable, I just never developed any desire for turning the way I have for the other forms wood working. I have finally decided that it is time to sell it and move on and I can use the space for my other tools. My question here is how much do some of you think I can get for this on Craigslist or some where else. It is about 10 years old but as I said not really used at all. I was thinking around $300.00. Too High? Too Low? As you can see in the photos even though it hasn't been used it has been well taken care of.
wdwerker
Like new with a few accessories thrown in might go for 1/2 to 2/3rds of original cost.
AceHoleInOne
If you don't need the money. Hang on to it. Because it always happens. That certain project will come along and DAMN! Wish I would of kept that thing! Just saying Hey my lathe just sit around. I don't feel too bad it gets little use. It's a lathe! -Ace-
Tom Cancelleri
I sold a well used but in good condition Jet 10-14 with a Nova G3 chuck for $450. I'd say in the area I live in you could easily get 400-500 for it, especially in that condition. I'd say start at $450 and see if you get any bits, if not lower it to 400. Someone might offer you $400 when you have it at $450.
RichardA
I had my lathe for over 4 years, and never used it one time, put it up for sale, it was gone in a week! Less than a month later, I needed the damn thing, had to sub the work out.... But, I haven't needed it again for the last 2 years.....Crossed fingers!
