Tim Kohl
The small boxes have been fun to make. Each one has been higher in quality than the last. Rather pleased with that. The completed one is for my daughter and the one as a project journal is for my daughter in law.I have been re-sawing stock on my table saw by cutting 1/2 way then flipping stock and placing shim in cut before cutting most of the way through. Separate halves with a hand saw.box joints are made with a home made jig. put it up before taking picture.bottom strips were quarter sawn hard maple. wanted to see if fleck showed up like in White oak. They did

wtnhighlander
Nice boxes Tim! Post a pic of your joint jig, if you get the chance. I like to see different ways of making that joint.

Tim Kohl
just made a simple box joint jig with double runners and only cuts a single size. Figured the less moving parts the better.this is the box after glue up and ready to build drawer, pulls and the top. And clean glue up.pictures a little better organized than OP :}. Coop
Tim, I have a box joint jig for my router table and use different size bits for the cuts. How do you get wider cuts than your blade? Do you just move it over and nibble each one out?
Tim Kohl
cooper I just cut that one size. If I decide I need a bigger finger ill make another. I use a standard Dado stack 2 primary blades and a 32nd shim. I don't have a router table yet. my next purchase will be a 14" B.S.
