Ben@FineWoodworking
Looks like some of the schools around here are getting rid of some of their shop equipment. Hopefully in order to upgrade... not shutting down the shops. On the city auction site there is a few items of interest. There is a Delta Unisaw up for auction that ends tomorrow. Right now the price is $112. The problem is I can't go down there and check it out. Don't want to drop money, go through the trouble of picking it up and find out it is beyond repair. Here is the description... Description: Delta Metal Table Saw. 120 V, 60 Hz. 45" L x 29" W x 34" H Used. Parts may be Missing or Broken. Reported to be in Working Condition by Department eBid has No Actual First Hand Knowledge of Working Condition. Sold As Is PLEASE NOTE: Winning Bidder will be Solely Responsible for Pick Up & Removal of Item w/Own Equipment Here is the pics. Thoughts? Rick LoDico
If I needed a saw I'd bid on that one sight unseen. Up to 200.00. You can always reno an old saw and end up with something real nice for a lot less than buying new.
Ben@FineWoodworking
Thanks for the reply Rick. I wound up not bidding on it. Just didn't have a great feeling. Woke up this morning and it went for $232 so I don't feel bad. It probably would of haunted me if it went for $112. It's nice to have a price point to go off of though. nateswoodworks
If your gut was telling you no than I think you did the right thing, something will come along your way. You are right about woodshop, unfortunatly our school shut down the class about 3yrs ago. They have not sold the tools so I am hopefull that it may start it back up in the future. As much as I would love a great deal on the tools I would rather have the next generation learn and continue the craft. Nate
