bushwacked
Have you seen this? This seems like a pretty solid system ... sorry if it has been posted before. company website ... http://www.keen-products.com/
Tom King
My homemade rig does a lot better. I don't get sawdust anywhere but some of the heavy pieces left in the box. We can use it in finished houses. My portable DC is 3hp four bagger though.
SawDustB
As far as I can tell, it's not available anymore. I was looking for it, but it isn't in stock anywhere. The other products by that company seem to have been adopted by milescraft, but not the miter saw one. Dave's Not Here
The keen website states that this product will be available in the fall. I really hope it works as demonstrated. I want one!
Mzdadoc
According to the website the shroud will be available late fall I guess. Tom I have a huge shroud around mine but not as efficient as yours. His statement was great dust collection with a huge bulky shroud. I like the set up since I also have the DeWalt that takes up so much room.
Tom King
Although my box looks big, it's as small as possible to enclose the saw allowing it to swing both ways, and is no more than 3/4", or an inch, deeper than the saw itself when slid all the way in. One big thing is the amount of air moved. We set it up in the current house we're working on, with a 4" duct teed into the main 6" line, and it wasn't big enough. I had to switch it back to a 6" for it to work completely. In this setup, we have to step over the duct going to it, so I thought the 4" would be less in the way, but the guys are used to stepping over 6" on some of our other jobs anyway. SawDustB
Not sure if you guys realize, but that was fall of 2013 that it launched. The website just hasn't been updated in a long time. There are amazon reviews of it here:http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/reviews/B00CPRCG2G Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Dave's Not Here
Thanks for the heads up SawDustB. Too bad, from the video it did look like it was a great solution to an age old problem but it must have been a no go in real life situations. SawDustB
It really is too bad. I'm thinking about attempting to rig up my own version. I don't have the room or dust collector to make the other solutions work. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
bushwacked
I am really surprised another company has not come out with something along these lines to try and get the dust. Festool kinda has something close with that mouth piece but just not that big.
