Cygnus A
I am using a birch butcher block in desk design (bought the butcher block portion) and I need to seal it for long term use/abuse. It will be a computer/workstation desk and I would like to prevent as much wear on it as possible. A satin/matte finish is what I want without any yellowing. How should I finish this? ..Kev
Ditto Mike's question.. If you can spray then lacquer is a great option.
wdwerker
A waterbourne will give you the clearest lightest finish with the least yellowing . Best if sprayed but some can be brushed. General Finishes makes some good ones.
Cygnus A
I think spraying is doable, if not what is my 2nd best option?
wdwerker
Brushing and fine sanding between coats.
Ronn W
I had good luck on a coffee table with the general finishes high performance applies with a sponge brush - 3 coats with light sanding between. Nice stuff.
