Denette Posted January 19, 2017 Author Report Share Posted January 19, 2017 Yeah! The free decibel meter on my iPhone measures a 10-15 decibel drop in noise level. Not bad for a $15 investment. (Edit: That's a measurement of noise level when the compressor is on, not the ambient level in the shop. Obviously it doesn't affect the ambient noise or other tools not operating right next to it.) I'd love to see a comparison of noise levels before enclosure, after enclosure in a standard cabinet, and after adding noise canceling foam to the cabinet. Quick, somebody call Matthias Wandel!
