PurpLev
Hi everyone, Just wanted to give a shoutout and a big thank you to Marc for setting up this fantastic site! THANKS! And feel free to post or PM me with any question regarding 3D modeling be it SketchUp, Bonzai3D, or Maya, I am usually online, and would be more than glad to help out. For starters here is a list of some good places to start learning SketchUp: http://www.youtube.com/user/SketchUpVideo http://sketchupforwoodworkers.com/ http://www.finewoodworking.com/profile/DaveRichards And don't forget to check out the SketchUp Library area which has a growing library of SketchUp Models, free plugins, and Materials you can use in your models to give them that extra finished look Now, Go Design! Dan M
How do upload models to the library? Thanks Dan
khill
I bought the Sketchup for dummies book and it was quite helpful for someone who had never used Sketchup before. If your just starting out using a 3D modeling program it would be helpful. And really who can afford to purchase a Maya license for a hobby or heck even for a pro. PurpLev
How do upload models to the library? Thanks Dan Dan, on the SketchUp Library page click the Upload File on the right hand side. Then select 'SketchUp Models" for the category and click "continue". on the upload page, enter a name for the model, and add a link to the model IF it is already hosted on 3dwarehouse. you can put in a description about it as well. Click Add File in the 'Files' section to upload your model and click the 'upload file', or enter the 3dwarehouse link to you model in the linked area. add a screenshot image (jpeg) of your model or insert a link to a image hosted elsewhere of your model. and click "Add Submission" to complete. You do need to be a registered member of this website though to upload any files. Hope this helps.
