So very true.  I had some one come into my shop and suggest three moves that totally changes how the shop works and then with the move of the jointer, for the space that I have, about 290 Sq. Ft.,  It is pretty nice to work in.

My shop is far from photogenic with no natural lighting and the magical forest mural on the walls that my wife won't let me paint over...but here is how it sits.  It'll take some getting used to but might work great.  I pulled the workbench out a couple feet to give access to all sides, this configuration allows that even with the DP next to it. I'll give it a whirl and see if I need to turn the bench 90* or not. 

 

I need to complete the miter station and drill press cabinet to add drawers, that'll help with clutter from little stuff.
