But for buzz boxes, it's hard to beat a Lincoln Electric. Mines held up 60+ years, it was my grandfather's, a professional pipefitter/welder during WWII and later. Tom King
I looked on ebay for the least expensive, and latest dated welding textbook. This seems like a pretty good deal: https://www.ebay.com/p/Welding-Principles-and-Applications-by-Larry-Jeffus-2007-Hardcover-Revised/63091938?iid=182857813979&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49566%26meid%3D7b5c205e4981417192db38990e23817f%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D232186284492&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
Wimayo
fastev, Thanks for taking the time to write that all out. Most helpful. I think I will print it out along with this whole thread for ready reference. I frequent Craigslist for almost anything of interest in the way of tools. Occasionally, a small welder will pop up. One day I will spring for one. Thanks to everyone for the great comments.
