pahoulihan
I’m building a crib for my first born son and am very close to being done. I can’t find 2x or 4x pine ANYWHERE. Any suggestions or options you’d suggest? I need the 2x to support the frame of the mattress and the 4x for the four corner posts. any help would be appreciated, thank you

pahoulihan
I’m in Southern California, Riverside. the wood ive used so far is premium pine I’ve found at Lowe’s. 6 lumber yards now haven’t had what I’m looking for... wdwerker
Look for hardwood lumber suppliers. They might have white pine or lodge pole pine but it is likely to have knots in it. I think that " premium pine " is radiata pine that is plantation grown. Most likely the 2x and 4x sold in your area is spruce/fir. Also look for real lumberyards not " home centers ". You could glue up layers to get the thickness you need.
Popular Post Coop
If it’s to be painted, ash and poplar would be another good alternative.
Tom King
Chances of finding 4x, or even full 2x (non-treated), are not good. That's going to be a Strong crib.

Have you checked Reel Lumber? They should have 1x2 & 1x4 pine. That should be plenty strong for crib. For a human baby at least. Aj
RJH30518
Take your premium lumber and glues them up … a little over-sized, and them cut to size … 2 boards will gt you 2x, 4 will get you 4x for the posts.
