2x and 4x pine

Look for hardwood lumber suppliers. They might have white pine or lodge pole pine but it is likely to have knots in it.  I think that " premium pine " is radiata pine that is plantation grown.  Most likely the 2x and 4x sold in your area is spruce/fir.  Also look for real lumberyards not " home centers ".

You could glue up layers to get the thickness you need.

the wood ive used so far is premium pine I’ve found at Lowe’s. 6 lumber yards now haven’t had what I’m looking for...

Have you checked Reel Lumber? They should have 1x2 & 1x4 pine. That should be plenty strong for crib.

For a human baby at least. :D
