JohnDi
Is there a method for cleaning up the "staining" on old iron? most of the tools come out of either vinegar or evaporust with areas of discoloration that doesn't come off even after hitting them with a brass wire wheel on the bench grinder. Chestnut
I've had luck with scotch brite pads for ares that don't need to be flat. That or steel wool.
SawDustB
Depending on how bad it is, I've had luck with using autosol polish and a buffing attachment on the drill press. It helps take done of the black off without making it look new.
