But I am not a fan. Explanation follows: When I first came on this site one strong voice put me down for making too many photography analogies. But the following works: When it comes to stain I think I will stick to separate stain & coat. It’s like rubbing developer into fiber paper to enhance part of the image. Stain does the same for grain. But Varthane is applied like paint. I’m sure it has its place. But so far it’s not for me. Note: This is my first application for it.
