BillyJack
I set this aside after my first whooping, but will try again in 23 hopefully with a victory. What's your woodworking challenge for 2023?
wtnhighlander
I saw someone do the 'tenon' part of that joint by taking a spade bit, grinding a gap up the middle to make a two-pronged fork, and sharpening the prongs. Cut the tenons / pegs with a drill press. I think he resorted to a drill & scroll saw for the other part.
BillyJack
I’m trying to do it with a router with a fixed set in size like the dovetail jig. I can usually get what I want, but need it to be consistent in size..
Ronn W
I first learned of Knapp joints when I was visiting relatives and looking at a drop front desk that was my grandmothers - was pre-1900 vintage.
BillyJack
Dovetails replaced it. I just would like the option… After awhile, everything being build looks the same..

BillyJack
Another 2023 challenge. I took a standard Craftsman Router Crafter and made in into a 8’ Router Crafter. The problem I’m having is width I can put in it and the weight of the product. I may have really bulk this system up and mount on a few good saw horses dedicated to the task.
