Von Posted March 18, 2024 Report Posted March 18, 2024 My bandsaw could use a new 72 1/2" blade - anyone willing to recommend a source? I'm leaning the cheap disposable, rather than the high-end carbide tipped, route since it's not a high-use item for me, but if someone wants to take a run at convincing me otherwise, I'm open to it. wtnhighlander Posted March 18, 2024 Report Posted March 18, 2024 I get decent performance from the Bosch blades my local home center carries. Cheap enough, but if you buy in multiples, an online source like bandsawbladesdirect.com, might be a better value. 1 Quote
gee-dub Posted March 18, 2024 Report Posted March 18, 2024 At that length I assume a 10" saw? I run Olsen PGT series on my 10" with good result. At $10 to $15 each they are not a painful choice. I keep a couple of 1/4" x 6TPI and 14TPI on hand. I also have a 1/2" x 4TPI for the rare occasions I use that saw for thicker stock. 2 Quote
Von Posted March 19, 2024 Author Report Posted March 19, 2024 @wtnhighlander and @gee-dub - thank you both. Yes, it's a 10" Delta 28-195. Quote
Popular Post JustAnotherGuy Posted May 14, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 14, 2024 Selecting the sawblade will always go down to the type of material that you are cutting. If you are not cutting anything fancy like Titanium or other exotic steels, there would not be a need for getting a Carbide Tipped blade! A general purpose blade might work which is way cheaper. Anyway, I've been getting mine off of sawblade.com. Real good ones. Ordered a 1/2" x 10-14" for 1/4" mild steel March or last year, still working up until now! 3 Quote
