mds2
For those of you that read WOOD Magazine, this might look familiar. I decided to give this little project a shot. It was pretty fun to build and I really like working with cocobolo. I wish it wasn't so expensive. I need to find a shorter plate iron, but this one was literally the only one I could find in town. I'm going to give this to my grandfather, hes been a woodworker for almost 75 years. Bought his first power miter saw 2 years ago because he couldn't find anyone to sharpen his handsaws anymore. He really likes hand tools. I have no idea if it works worth a crap or not, I figure I'll let him decide if he wants to use it.

justinh
The contrast between the wood looks great, and probably my favorite feature is how the wood grain forms a triangle pointing towards the front of the plane. Looks great! Hopefully I will be able to build something like that someday.
