Miter sled

I didn't have a good way to cut miters on the edges of boards. I have an older Craftsman table saw and while I think it is a pretty good saw the blade will not tilt all the way to 45. So last night I made a miter sled. It isn't quite finished, I need to add a hold down yet. I am happy with the jig though. It cuts miters easily and if I flip the board over and lower the blade I bit I can also cut notches for splines.

I too have an old Craftman table saw. It was my dad's and I think he bought it in the fifties. It sure looks similar to yours. Mine still tilts ok:) The legs and casters are shot. I was going to try and build a new set of legs for it. What is yours sitting on?
