The shadow box design I got from watching a video on "a simple design of Ocala,Inc."I made the box out of cherry with walnut splines with two floating shelves to display the commenmertive coins, each one of them encased in cherry with a walnut banding surrounded by cherry banding. I took it too 220 grit then applied lacquer sanding sealer followed by a couple of coats of CAB acrylic lacquer by Sherman williams then applied 4 coats of wax. wouldwurker Posted January 11, 2015 Report Share Posted January 11, 2015 Very nice design and well executed I'm guessing the contents don't weigh much, but the visual weight of the thick frame and shelves really give the impression that the contents are 'heavy'....on an emotional, almost metaphysical level.
