Popular Post wdwerker
I saw the usefulness of a Boom Arm for my Festool CT26 but the size, complexity and price scared me off. Decided to make my own. I made a box to fit around a Systainer that is latched into the top of the Vac. Post is attached to one corner of the box. Scrap of piano hinge, plywood triangle brace, arm is scrap of the post. 15 minutes to build w screws. Box just slip fits over the Systainer. I used 1/2" baltic scrap and a 1 1/2" square piece of oak for the post. Bungie cord hangs the hose. Stretch wrap helps too sometimes.

wdwerker
You do have to set it up somewhere flat, pulling it over uneven surfaces it can get kinda tippy.
shaneymack
Very nice. I want to eventually make one as well. Seems like it would help alot with the hose always getting snagged. How do you like yours?
wdwerker
Hose snagging and dragging across a freshly sanded surface is eliminated by hanging the hose! It works pretty good and it was fast and cheap.
CessnaPilotBarry
I had the same feeling you did. Mine is below... It removes from the vac without tools, simply by lifting out of the nesting tubing / swivel bearing.
JerrySats
Looks good and you can't beat the cost of it , as long as it works its a keeper . I built one last year using the handle kit from Festool . 1" plastic sprinkle pipe fits perfect into the base part and 3/4" EMT fits perfectly into the 1" plastic . I bent the EMT to the shape I wanted , made some hose holders from 2- laminated pieces of 3/4" of Ply and called it good . http://s180.photobucket.com/user/wingshooterz/media/boomarm.jpg.html
