Hi,

I made a coffee table.

What do you thinking about it ?
Table made from Oak and painted 4 times by me with spray gun . 1 st color,  2nd  I don't know how to say in English but this is  undercoat  ( if it not correct please right me ) , 3 rd top-layer 4,th top layer.

I done this table and before when  I registered on this forum I didn't know  take a picture so I make a schema in" Paint"
On this chart. I draw how fixed legs.

How you can see on schema I don't use screw in front of  table just glue :) Under this of course I screw in :)

What do you think about this table and this method of fixed legs ?

I want sell this table, cost price it's about 100 $ ( First class wood Oak, really expensive paint " ADLER" from German it strong like iron and  silken  in touch ) what do you think about this price like 300 $ ?

Size 1500 mm x 500 mm x 500 mm

This is photo of table and schema

I personally wouldn't be able to sell it for $300 around here, but if that's what you can swing in your neighbourhood, great.

The proportions of the table are quite strong and seem appropriate for the low height.  The fit of the joinery with the legs is quite well done and, from what little I can make of the photos, the finish is well done.  Typically, this sort of block-like modern piece would be ebonized, especially in an open pored wood such as oak or ash...at least that's what you see around these parts.

The joinery for the legs is perhaps overengineered and I'm scratching my head as to how you put it together.  The L-shaped tenons add complexity without really adding strength.  The true strength of the joint comes from the vertical tenons (and all their accompanying long-grain glue surface) of the stretchers.  Horizontal tenons protruding from the top won't add much.  If you're concerned about strength (I wouldn't be) then you should ditch the latter and make the former deeper.

Good luck finding a buyer.

Excellent job on the table. How many hours did it take you to build it and what to you figure your time is worth? Add that to the materials cost and you have a selling price. If it doesn't sell, then it either took you too long to build and you can't charge for all the time, or you will have to cut back on your hourly rate of pay. Charge whatever the market will pay.

Clean lines, simple design. Looks like a well made piece of furniture! Troy is right about how to figure a price. Either do it faster or cheaper or find better paying clients.

I think it is great we have folks from all over the planet dropping in to chat about woodwork. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Thank you very much for all opinion, a lot positive words about my table :)

I build this I suppose 3 h   ( of course without waiting when I put together for example   two piece of wood and use the glue so this is another 2 h, when glue will be strong, and when I painted this table first layer to dry 1 h,  2nd layer 2 h and 3 i 4 the same, but last 4 it was like  redundant layer because 3 times painted was great ) so If I will make 10 tables on week and sell this my price will be 200 $ or less but I haven't even one clients :P

Next time I will make a doors how you can see on before photo this doors I didn't call DOORS.

Hello Sylwek, greetings from Czech Republic. :-)

your table looks great, as was said it is simple design, nice looking.

According those L-shaped tenons - I suppose you expected them to close the gap between leg and table top a little bit better than simple "butt" joint between the top and tenon shoulders, is it right?

The finish you put it on it - is it polyurethane?
