dodgeram99 Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 Why is it so hard to post a pic. I have to send it from my phone to my email. Just so I can resize it so it can be up loaded to the forum. Why is other a restriction to 1.4mg. Heck most pictures are bigger then that. Its suck a pain in the butt. Quote
Eric. Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 I use imageshack to resize, then cut and paste using the image icon. It's free and takes about ten seconds. Quote
dodgeram99 Posted April 21, 2013 Author Report Posted April 21, 2013 Bit I still have to use a computer to do that. Isn't other a way to post from a phone? Quote
wdwerker Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 It is no easier from an iPad. Post to a free hosting site and post a link to it seems to work. Quote
dodgeram99 Posted April 21, 2013 Author Report Posted April 21, 2013 With every one using other phones iPads tablets they should make it were all we have to do is post a pic. It can't be all that hard. Quote
thewoodwhisperer Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 OK just ran a test using my Invision Power Board iPhone app. Works great! But I am using the old version which isn't available anymore. They upgraded the app at some point and all I hear are bad things about it so I refuse to update. But I don't know if the new one has image attachment functionality. Maybe someone who has the app can tell me. I do know that the mobile version of the site lacks uploading functionality. Why, I don't know. That said, if you scroll to the bottom of the page you'll see a button for Full Version. You can then access the site like you do on the computer and you should be able to upload and attach as you normally would. As for file size, there aren't many sites out there that will just let you upload huge images. It's typically the user's responsibility to resize to a reasonable file size and resolution. Think about 1.5 MB per picture for thousands of users over the course of years. That adds up, especially when the average upload doesn't need to be more than 100KB or so. It would be nice if the forum had automatic image-resizing that would create a smaller version on the fly, while also dumping the giant file, but it doesn't. So to sum up my advice, try the full version of the site and see if that works better for you. Quote
thewoodwhisperer Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 Tested the new version of the app and no image uploading there either. Let me know how the full version of the site works for you guys on your mobile devices. Quote
Tpt life Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 I have moved in and out of mobile/full version to post a pic with only minor annoyance. I did not need to resize the image I posted, no joy there. Quote
duckkisser Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 try photo bucket with your phone it might be doable Quote

chopnhack Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 I use photobucket, but I was unable to upload from my Android device to photobucket. At least it was not intuitive... Quote

Nothin personal duck, just couldn't resist after a couple of cocktails! (grin) I know I’m really bad at spelling especial after being on my feet for 6 days last week at a stressful job (some weeks on Friday I can’t even talk in complete sentences) when I posted that I just walked in from working out and was falling asleep in the chair so your will have to forgive me because frankly I don’t care there fixed spelling doable Quote
wdwerker Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 Power tools and teenagers, what could be stressful about that? Glad I am not in your shoes. Quote
dodgeram99 Posted April 22, 2013 Author Report Posted April 22, 2013 Any up dates on up loading pics fixes. Or can it be fixed at all. Quote
thewoodwhisperer Posted April 22, 2013 Report Posted April 22, 2013 Nothing to update since it's out of my control. The makers of the forum software are responsible for making the update. I don't even know if this is a priority in their update cycle but I do know there's some buzz about it in their own forums. But it's something we have zero control over. Quote
