Firefighter4Cy
Hey all- I am a beginner from Iowa. My grandpa used to do a lot of woodworking but I was too young to appreciate the craft, now as I've gotten older I've become more interested in it. Unfortunately he passed away in 2000 so I'm not able to go to him for help. So far the only project that I have completed is building sawhorses so my wife can have the TV trays back. Next up is a workbench. I hope to pull some nuggets of wisdom from this forum and also get new project ideas.

Clint Brickl
Welcome. This is a great place to get assistance. Since you are just starting out, I would keep the workbench simple. You could even use the sawhorses and some sort of top for now. I have recently been catching up on my episodes of WoodTalk. They did an episode on overrated shop items, and the workbench was one of them. You just need something sturdy enough to work on.
