bfiedler
Made this cedar table for my mom. All off the shelf dimensional lumber. I bought the wood from a local construction lumber. They called it clear cedar. Basically there were no knots, and no defects in any of it. The price was about triple what their standard cedar was. However, they said they hadn't sold any in 3 years, so they sold it for the price of the cheep stuff! They have a whole bunch of it, and told me to come back for as much as I wanted. Guess I better start planning more projects...
wtnhighlander
Nice! Wish I could just FIND clear cedar, even if it was 3 times the cost.

bfiedler
In the past 3 months I've driven to Nashville maybe 10 times? I'll be driving to Fairfield, AL the beginning of October, I would be driving through Memphis.
bfiedler
I actually will be in Murfreesboro, TN on November 1 (assuming my work schedule stays the same).

bfiedler
What is cool about this project is it is one of those "You can do it" projects. Nothing about this was difficult. A chop saw, and a pocket hole jig are almost the only tools you need.

RichardA
I stopped going to Memphis when I recieved directions to a place, which included "follow the sound of gun fire". Memphis has become the Chicago of the South!
wtnhighlander
According to ABC news, Memphis is the highest crime rate city in Tennessee, and TN is the highest crime rate state in the country. Bummer.
bfiedler
The only time I have been scared in my travels across the country was when a cop pulled me over, ran up, said to follow them, and don't stop. They proceeded to escort me away. Evidently a white boy in an expensive truck didn't belong where I was.
