JerseyG1960
I just bought the same bandsaw from Woodcraft, during the same sale. I am primarily a decoy carver, and the size of my old 12 inch craftsman saw was limiting the size birds I could make. I looked at a variety of 14 inch saws, which would require a riser block, when I discovered this one. While costing several hundred dollars more than the other saws I was looking at, it didn't require the riser block for the 12 inch capacity, which would have required a new blade as well. With the added elimination of the headache of installing the block, I felt the extra cost was worth it. I've been using it for about a month now and love it! At some point I'll upgrade the blade but it's cutting well while new so it will do fine for now. The older saw is now fitted with a narrow blade for decoy heads and other small projects. It's nice to not have to switch blades between projects anymore!
