Dylder
Hello from out in O'Fallon MO. I used to visit this site quite a bit but dropped off for a while. Came back and have been lurking for a while I make mainly furniture and a few small things. My shop is in the basement, but pretty well equipped combination of powermatic, grizzly, jet & laguna. Some Dewalt, Festool and older Porter Cable. My first tablesaw 45 years ago was plywood, 2X4's and some mechanicals parts my grandpa gave me. Amazing I still have my fingers after using that thing, no sawStop technology on it. :-) For hand tools I look for Stanley Sweethearts - the old ones, not the new remakes. Currently I am finishing up the woodsmith plan - High Back Hall Bench. Then on to a little walnut table whose design is influenced from a photo I saw on this site. I'm putting a chessboard on top. Sorry I don't remember who did the original or I would give them credit. For work I am a programmer. I don't do sketchup or anything like that, I see enough screen time during the day. I just work things out in pencil sketches. I should be a u-pick this weekend ... look at my username, then watch for my trucks tag. dw
Eric.
Welcome back D. I'll be at the yard both days this weekend. Make sure you tell me who you are so I can give you the WTO friends and family discount...I won't see your truck until you're loading it up. LarsCW
Welcome, There is nothing wrong with drawing sketches. It's what i do when I wake up with an idea and then I work through it and put it into SketchUp. The way how SketchUp is made forces you to think through the whole design process.
