wtnhighlander
That's what I was wondering. Maybe freehand, rout it out and fill with epoxy? How deep and wide will you need to route? A 'river' of inlay flowing through the slab might look pretty good. I'd love to do one with pewter.
Eric.
Cut the pithy parts out and use the rest for leg stock. 10/4 is great for leg stock. And what's left after you cut the pith out should be mostly rift sawn, even better. Don't really understand everyone's obsession with slabs. Some other guy had slabs so then another guy needed them ... Continued until every guy needed them. Someday a YouTube guy will start talking about how much he loves red oak, and the cycle will begin again... rmtannerjr
You guys suggesting inlays are going a bit beyond my abilities. Not that I've ever tried it but i guess it's worth a shot, nothing to lose at this point.

To be honest with Ya, if I had it to do over again, and knew that these were going to stay this flat, I would have had everything but one or two cut into 4/4 & 5/4.
