Popular Post Mick S
I partnered with another guy to buy a 7500 bf lot of air dried walnut, cherry, white oak, ash, spalted maple and a mix of other woods for about $0.50 per bf when it was all said and done. We sold off about 3500 bf and split the rest. I believe I'll be set for a while, anyway!
Eric.
Nice. Let's see some of that spalted maple. Anything good?
Woodenskye
Nice, I would say you are good for at least a couple projects.
wtnhighlander
Niiiiice! Why don't deals like that ever pop up near me?
Pwk5017
when anything pops up for $.50 a bdft, i am usually all over it. Ill build with oak at that price. I do not envy you if you moved 7500bdft by hand. Also, where was the wood sourced? Surely someone in NM wasnt selling that much.

A long time woodworker in Albuquerque had to close his shop due to health concerns. We bought it for $1.00 a foot and sold off a bunch at a slightly higher (whole-hell-of-a-lot-of-handling surcharge) price to get it down to the 50 cent price. Took 3 trips for a one ton and two pickups with trailers to get it here. I don't know that I'd do it again, but then I probably won't ever have to. He still has a nice Tannewitz 36" 5hp 3 ph bandsaw for $1500 if anyone is interested. Also has a PM 66 with Biesemeyer fence and an Oliver sliding table saw.
