Popular Post Brendon_t
I intended to drop this in showcase but it seems that sub is gone. For a few years, I've kicked around the idea of making a wooden dream catcher. My family has a fair bit of native American back there and I grew up with the imagery. I Considered just making the hoop and stringing it but ended up going one think chunk, solid "webbing". Wood is the last bit of "flame birch" I got from Bell Forest in s project pack. The design was applied with French curves. I chiseled out the entire pattern stopping about 1/8" shy of going through. I didn't want the back unsupported while still pounding. The band saw cut the block into 3. The base with backing was filled with graphite epoxy. That will become something else as well. A bit of rasp work, quick bandsawn feathers, two liberal coats of arm r seal and viola!
Coop
That is cool. It's hard to tell from the pic, what is the diameter?
Woodenskye
Brendon, that is really cool! Does this particular design mean something?

If it does, I hope it's nice. The design just happened. I tried running string on nails in different patterns, didn't find any I liked so I went to shapes in shapes. I was also getting frustrated at this point so I'm glad I still like what I settled on.
Coop
That’s a bunch of darn work without a CNC. Not an eagle’s feather, right?
