justaguy
When I decided to get serious about my woodworking (and had the time) I went to a 12 week course to get myself grounded in the fundamentals. Now I can build things reasonably well, but my finishing sucks. Does anybody know of a course for finishing? I have been looking, but not having much success I am interested in coloring wood, pore filling, and spraying finishes - oil and water based
wtnhighlander
Charles Neil recently passed away, but his Youtube channel remains, and provides a good deal of helpful information on finishing.
Mark J
I don't know what part of the country you live in, but the Marc Adams School near Indianapolis has a class. @Ronn W took the class and as I recall gave it high marks. I would imagine other woodworking schools offer something similar.
Ronn W
The Marc Adams class by MItch Kahonek is a high intensity intro to a whole bunch fo finishing techniques and materials. You can check out the class description on the Marc Adams School of woodworking website. You are encourage to concentrate on the types of finishing that you think you are most interested in.
