Woodworking_Hobby
Has anyone ever tired a mortising attachment on their drill press? I saw the Ironton recently in a magazine but I always feel when you try and force one tool to do something different it never works quite right.
Gary Beasley
I had one for a while, might still be in a box somewhere in the shop. It was possible to set it up to work reasonably well but it took a while. After I found a freestanding mortiser used I put it all away and never looked back.
Tom King
I used one for several decades, but only maybe once a year. They do work, but setup time takes longer than the typical use. I now have three mortising machines, and they are exponentially easier to setup, and use.
