Popular Post curlyoak
A rare occurrence is about to happen here in Florida. The temps will be in the 30's. I know we have no room to complain compared to most that are reading this. Normal lows this time of year is the high 50's. Also probably will be a lot of plant damage. I heat a small greenhouse loaded with orchids. Several plants are in my house. I will cover a couple of plants outside. The rest is up to the Darwin way. The roads are full of tourist traffic trying to beat the cold. Even though it is cold, the tourists from the north are happy to be here and enjoy our not normal highs of low 60's. Compared to some outrageous low numbers back home...
pkinneb
Yeah we've been on a definite cold snap even for Jan in MN but if your not used to it and your systems aren't designed for it I totally understand the issues it can cause. No kidding! Our recent natural gas price increase of nearly 80% is being blamed on something in TX
Popular Post Tom King
The coldest I've ever been was when I was living in Ft. Lauderdale in 1973. We were in a concrete block house on a slab, with jalousie windows. It got down to 45 degrees, and we didn't have any heat. I was renting the house with two young women, and we had to snuggle to stay warm, so I didn't complain. 1
