mrbarido
I bought a Dewalt DW618B3 120V 12 Amp Brushed 2-1/4 HP Corded Three Base Router Kit locally and did not notice it was corded as I was excited and there was a lot of items in the box. I bought for $180. This has the fixed based, plunge, D-Handle, and universal guide. This tool has never been used . I've never owned a router. My question should I try to sell this and get the cordless? Will I be happier with cordless. I have a couple of batteries already. Happier is a subjective and relative term so would I be better off getting the cordless? Edited March 2, 2022 by mrbarido Clarify
Popular Post legenddc
Seems like you got a good deal. A cordless router won't be as powerful as the one you got. You'll eventually end up with numerous routers so I'd say keep it and get a palm router, corded or cordless, when the time comes. 2

BillyJack
If you don't use it much it would probably be nice to have but the batteries could eventually fail. Corded on the other hand could last a lifetime...

Yea, If you end up really enjoying this hobby like most here, all you have done is purchased your first router but probably not you last in a collection. wtnhighlander
That Dewalt looks like a good workhorse. I suspect you will find it very useful, and for a completely different set of tasks than a cordless trim router is suited for. Think of it this way - that Dewalt can do all the tasks that a trim router can do, although some may be awkward. But a cordless trim router can NOT do all the tasks a big corded router can handle.
