Popular Post gee-dub
I'm still dragging the last few things in from the garage. When you need a pipe clamp, you want a pipe clamp. The rest of the time mine are usually tucked out of site; a rack behind a tool box, behind a door, whatever. For the new shop I want to take advantage of the taller walls for seldom used items. These racks are simple and take up little room. I decide on the blank's dimensions and lay out for the "arms". I drill 1-1/8" holes for 3/4" pipe clamps. I gang the four blanks to saw out the space between the arms. I glue and screw vertical cleats up opposing sides of the blanks . . . sorry, no pics ;-( The racks hold 2 clamps on each arm. This is one pair. The other pair will probably go over the double doors. Then I can gather all the pipe clamps from hither and yon and bring them "home".
Ronn W
Great use of space. Just hangin' around.
drzaius
I have space just like that above my clamp rack, but never thought to put the pipe clamps horizontally. Isn't there some rule against that? I'm gonna build me one of those & get the clamps out from under the workbench. Thanks.

Tom King
Someday I might do something different with mine than stand them in a corner.
BillyJack
Clamps take a lot of space. I've got about 20-30 pipe clamp kits sitting drawers because I don't want to take more space adding the pipe...After all these years you can only do the best you can with the space you have. Amen to that. I remember being up on a ladder in between the rafters at the old shop. I happened to be aligned with the openings in the rafter framing evenly spacing away from me. An 8' by 24" piece of plywood suddenly gave me 16 square feet of storage I didn't even know I had. I only have a dozen of so pipe clamps. The second set of racks took care of the balance and some of the other seldom used, but "glad to have 'em", clamps.
