roughsawn
Do you guys know anyone who repairs (welds) broken bandsaw blades? I know Drew had some problems with a few Resaw Kings a while back. Now I have 2 of them sitting out of commission..
wtnhighlander
Maybe try the place you bought it? At work, we used to have a big 4-wheel bandsaw, that had a blade welder built into the side of the frame. Simple function, just a pair of clamps to hold the ends together, and a transformer with manual timer controls (aka, a momentary pushbutton). Instruction plate on the side. Clamp blade into position, hold button approx. 10 seconds to weld, joint glows white and fuses. Allow to cool, then pulse until dull red, and cool again. Repeat this 'annealing pulse' 3 times. roughsawn
Just a tool supply store. Take your $ and see how fast they can get you out the door. Hopefully Drew will chime in, with what he did with all those blades that broke on him. By the way...Laguna DOES stand behind their product, if they determine it was defective. Wimayo
Not what you asked, but it is easy to do yourself with a propane torch and silver brazing materil. I've done it many times. Check out youtube videos on the subject
roughsawn
Ok, I will! Sure is worth a try, if it works. Thanks!

If you have an old blade, do some practice joints first. Even some strips of scrap about the same thickness would work for this. I've found that 55% silver brazing material works the best. Check ebay.

Not sure how the blade broke. I did figure out that the snodgrass method of mounting carbide blades is a BIG BIG no no. It puts the strain on the gullet of the blade. This area gets hard and brittle from brazing on the carbide teeth. I've switched to mounting the crown on the middle of band between the gullet and the back edge and haven't broken a blade since.
