Specifically I'd make what ever is needed around the house that doesn't need a specific wood. I just made some kitchen wall bins , and i also just made a baby gate. The sides of these these are about 3-1/4" tall. Just lift lid boxes. No hinges. Use other interesting scraps for tops and other scrap or even plywood for bottoms.
