Popular Post roughsawn Posted February 7, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted February 7, 2025 Another project that I am halfway done with, is a couple pieces for my brother's entryway. The bench is done, and the coat rack is milled and resting. Needs to be put together and finished. Pics will follow. His entryway is small, and leads right to the walkout basement. So, you kinda have to scoot by this bench to go downstairs. So, it's only 12" wide. 3" aprons makes it very stable, tho. Shelf is for low shoes, hats, and gloves. The gaps alongside of the shelf, on the sides, are intentional. #1, I'm paranoid about wood movement. #2, the shelf is installed on the taper of the legs. One part touches the legs, the other doesn't, because of sitting at the taper. 7 Quote
gee-dub Posted February 7, 2025 Report Posted February 7, 2025 I'm a big fan of letting the wood figure speak for itself. This piece looks great! In my area we don't have mudrooms, or much in the way of entry halls, or basements for that matter. My point is that I have several pieces I would really like to do like a hallway tree, an entry table, or a boot bench that I will probably never get to do. I enjoy living vicariously through others who get to build these things. 2 Quote

All houses that I've been in have a coat closet close to the entry. It usually holds the coats we wear the 1-2 colder months of the year. Quote
