Fricasseekid
I built another step stool. This one is reclaimed pallets timbers (oak I think) for the legs and the steps are maple and sepele. The design is very simple but a bit awkward. I'm not sure if I like it. I'm thinking about selling it. I'd like to know what you fellas think and how much y'all reckon it might be worth? wdwerker
Interesting approach. It sits between rustic and contemporary . I would guess around $75 - $100.
Brian VanVreede
Looks good! I would say $85 up to $125 depending on your demographic.
Eric.
If I were a buyer, I'd be in love with the steps but a little turned off by the mill marks and checking in the legs...but that's just my taste of course. It's always hard to say what a unique piece will go for. Good luck!
Fricasseekid
The mill marks aren't from me. The pallet timbers I reclaimed were rough sawn, I simply square them up and sand with removing as little wood as possible. I find it achieves that patina that appeals to what I call the "pottery barn" market. Thanks for the input fellas.
Fricasseekid
In hindsight I wish I would've put an extra inch on the side of each step to allow for the curve. That way the mahogany stripe would've fallen out in between the legs.
JayWC
In this bad economy in Chicago you could try for $85 to $125, but if you want to actually sell them look at $40 to $50.
