wdwerker
ever since the IOS 8 update I can't post pictures from my iPad . When I click on the" Choose existing picture " option nothing happens. It used to open my pictures file for me to choose from.
TerryMcK
Can't help yet Steve as I've not updated yet. Don't want to screw the ipad up whilst away on holiday. Hopefully somebody will chime in.
thewoodwhisperer
Sounds like a post for the Apple forum! Seriously though, we have no control over this sort of thing since the forum software people handle all of the code. Best I can do is submit a bug report, which I will do. Tpt life
Safari- NOPE!!! Grrrrr Chrome on iPhone 4s with iOS 8- YES BTW, poplar with a touch of Transtint Brown Mahogany in Formby's. Kind of like it. FWIW, do not upgrade to iOS 8 yet if you are riding the fence. They killed copy/paste in a whole host of ways. Kind of hard to believe really. thewoodwhisperer
Other than a few bugs with out of date apps, I'm enjoying the update. What's the story with copy/paste?
Tpt life
Have to admit that iPhone 4s is now a slower processor than their target sales so I expect more bugs. I cannot copy a photo and paste it anywhere. I cannot "share" copy a Safari link through the action button. I have had limited success copying directly out of the URL box. This could be latency with the other third party apps. One of the places I paste links is FaceBook... I like the platform. I fully expect the kinks to be unbent in a few days to a couple of weeks. Not totally bitter, just not a fan of the new system bugs. I would like to think beta testing would catch these things and allow for better launches. PS I used to have a device stream of photos for each device with a separate cloud stream. Now the stream is completely blended. No more hiding purchase confirmation screen captures from my wife. wtnhighlander
Didn't you get the memo? You are supposed to trade in that old phone every time a new release comes out. I seriously suspect the mfg does sneaky things in updates to 'encourage' folks to abandon older hardware or software. I couldn't believe how incredibly slow my Windows XP machine became after installing the final updates that included the "You ain't gettin' any mo' help from us!" notice. wdwerker
Tried Safari and Chrome, neither one works for choosing , attaching etc of Photos. Ipad is only a few months old!
Tpt life
Sad, I was hoping I had helped you when Chrome worked for me. Next steps on an Apple service ticket would include a shutdown and restart. While the machines do not "reboot" like PCs, they do dump some cache on shutdown. They will also ask you if you are backed up and will suggest factory wiping and then restoring from the backup. I have not tried these options yet. I wanted to wait a few days and then check the gripe blogs to see if these are broad issues or something peculiar. And before you ask, I am never up this early. I sit here hacking and waiting for meds to calm me down. This virus is bad. Hope you all miss it.

TerryMcK
It looks like Apple are aware of the issue that certain apps have with accesing the photos album. There are a few bugs and they are working on IOS8.0.2 to fix probs. Apparently some users of iphone 6 can't make or receive calls on their phones after 8 update. I'm waiting for a stable version. I remember Windows NT 4 sp6 that screwed up servers worldwide back in the 90s and was quickly withdrawn within hours. Sp6a was released soon afterwards to repair the screw up and made IT people like me suspicious of any operating system patch or upgrade to this day.http://m.bbc.com/news/technology-29358986
Tpt life
8.0.2 to the rescue. Steve, I uploaded this photo of a monster burl from Safari after the patch released. Good luck!
TerryMcK
Yes as Carus says 8.0.2 works fine for uploading Steve. I've upgraded earlier and now have full access to the photo library on my ipad.
wdwerker
8.0.2 works with Safari but not with Chrome for picture posting.
Tpt life
Testing Chrome. BTW, I had issues with my CD ripped library loading after WIFI update needed to delete content to load. I restored factory and then restored a back up tonight and all seems well now.
wdwerker
Geek, Greek none of that made any sense to me. I know my woodwork pretty good but the rate technology changes is mind boggling .
Tpt life
Think nothing of PM'ing me if you ever need to know. There seem to be some even geekier than I here that could help you even better.
TerryMcK
Yes Chrome app on ipad running 8.0.2 doesn't work. It would be in settings>privacy>photos if it had access to the photos but isn't listed. It needs reporting to Google.
TerryMcK
Just wrote them a 2 star review mentioning the app cannot access the local photo store on ipad running IOS8.0.2 when uploading to websites. The more people who complain the more chance we have of getting it fixed.
Tpt life
Terry, I posted that last pic from Chrome. Also running 8.0.2 but on 4S. Shows up in Privacy>Photos.
TerryMcK
Interesting . I tried from iPad air. I'll try from my iPod 5th gen and report back.
TerryMcK
When using chrome on the ipod it asked me if I would like access to photos which I approved. It now works ok on the ipod running 8.0.2 I think I'll try uninstalling the app from the ipad and reinstalling. That may be the solution as it might ask for approval to access photos after reinistalling. The plot thickens....
TerryMcK
Uninstalling and then reinstalling Chrome on iPad Air doesn't help It still doesn't give access to the photos in settings>privacy>photos despite it working ok on the ipod 5th gen. I'll personally stick to Safari.
Strasberry
I just joined this forum and cannot upload a photo to my profile. I'm probably just hopefully out of date with hardware and software. I currently have an account with photobucket and windows 7. Do i need to upgrade to be able to post pictures?
Tpt life
Two issues may be in play. First, you may need a few more posts to be able to post pictures in posts. Just comment in this thread a few more times. Second, I have had difficulty posting images to my profile. I waded into the Gravatar mess because it allowed that option but this is the only place I have ever heard of Gravatar. Try a few more posts first and give it a go.
