collinb
Went to Woodwerks (woodwerks.com) for the first time today. Lots of stuff. Lots useful things and stuff way past where I'm at. Some appeal to the crafty types (pen making and ice cream scoop making). Lots of beautiful woods. Many I've never heard of before. Quality plywoods as well. Plus a nice old Chevy 3100 pickup inside the front door.

Coop
I can't believe the prices. I can't buy used pallet wood for that. Must be per sq. inch and not bf
Gilgaron
Yeah Woodwerks is pretty good for stuff you wouldn't find at the sawmill easily. My only disappointment is that I think they only have about five hand tools in the whole place. (Excepting turning tools, anyhow) More stationary power tools than you can shake a stick at, on the other hand.
Coop
I don't think those are the prices, I think it is how many board feet the board is. That makes more sense. I'm sure you're right.
mikem
It is a neat store. I have only been to it once, when I was up in Columbus for The Woodworking Show back in January. I haven't bought any wood from them yet, as Muterspaw is closer, but I think they have a better selection of exotics at Woodwerks.
phinds
Lots of beautiful woods. Many I've never heard of before. Quality plywoods as well. If you're interested in exploring different woods, I suggest my site (link in my signature)
wdwerker
Phinds website does have a massive amount of photos of all kinds of wood that I have never heard of. It is well worth checking out ! I have been wdwerker since the early 1990's . I got the idea from Kraftwerk , a German band. Surprised it took so long for a business to come up with a version of it.
collinb
The website has some nice images. Thanks. I went back to Woodwerks Supply to get some plywood yesterday. Yes, those stickers on the woods are the board feet of each piece. They have the /bd ft prices on other signage. Some of it would be interesting to work with. If I had time, space, and funds. :-O Still, I have my planks of curly maple, purple heart, and others that came with my planer. Perhaps in the Spring ... (Outside work is getting just a little chilly these days.)
