Michael Sloop
Hello All, I just bought a Tannewitz XJ, 5 Hp, 16" diameter table saw with Shopfox fence. It works, but don't know much more about it yet. I can't wait to start restoring this incredible saw. At 1,650 pounds it's going to be a beast In the shop. I'm giving you all fair warning that I'll be asking a lot of questions, haha! Any initial advice on restoration would be appreciated. Wish me luck! wdwerker
Have you seen the prices on Tannewitz parts and accessories? I doubt there are many guys with much experience with commercial/ industrial machines here.
Michael Sloop
Well, thanks for trying to kill my high. Yes, I have seen the parts prices, as well as the sale prices on eBay for these machines.
wtnhighlander
I bet ParticleBoard has used one, somewhere along the way!
dwacker
Did you happen to get the original fence? Is the top bored for a power feeder? I would not worry to much about the price of parts most you would never wear out. Bearings can be had local. They are nice saws, have fun. Michael Sloop
I didn't get the fence, unfortunately. Original owner added a modern fence to it.

Michael Sloop
Thanks all. Got me a 2 ton engine hoist today off craigslist for a good price. Spent the rest of the day making room in the shop. I'll post some pics when I get this monster home.
