Bulldog
I have decided on my second woodworking project. I saw a hand tool cabinet in the background of Eric's video, and decided I must have one. I purchased a set of plans from FWW and so far that is the extent of my journal :). I hope to select what wood species I want to use by this weekend.
Immortan D
It's going to be a nice journal for sure. I want to build one myself, but I'm waiting until I reach Eric's level in the tooling department, not an easy goal though, will take years.

Bulldog
I am going to have to make some templates for certain tools that I do not own yet. I may just borrow some from Shaneymack, as he has most of the ones I still need. I'm very trustworthy.
Eric.
I didn't do a journal on mine but here's the showcase thread with some pics in case you might pick up a few ideas. Finished it a year ago almost to the day.
Bulldog
Based on his silence, I don't think Shaneymack is going to let me borrow any tools for referencing ?
Elroy Skimms
You gotta tag him @shaneymack to make sure he see's it. That's the reason why he hasn't shipped you tools. -E
Bulldog
Well. I picked up some lumber today. I wish I had read Lester's gee dub inspired journal first. I think I got talked into everyone's least favorite wood. Red Oak. Oh well. As a new woodworker, I do want to experiment with different woods. It doesn't hurt that I got it all for free. bleedinblue
Free red oak for a shop project? I wouldn't have turned that down either. I'll never pay for red oak again though. My first hardwood project was made out of Home Depot red oak. It's our TV stand now, so not only was it expensive, but I have to look at the ugly thing daily. The tool chest could be an awesome project and I'm looking forward to it.
Bulldog
I have thought about it, and I can't risk it. I went and purchased a bunch of cherry. I think I'm going with Cherry and spalted sycamore.
gee-dub
Does your boss know you're looking at tool cabinet plans when you're supposed to be configuring those routers?
