Questions About Getting New Spray Equipment

I have decided on a Fuji Mini Mite 4 for my spray system. My question is about accessories.

I read somewhere about a cheaper, different brand of gun that some people bought as extra guns and were happy with. I can't find the article/thread. Does anyone here have another brand of gun that works with their Fuji setup?

Also, what kind of pressure pot do some of you have? Would making a pressure pot be conceivable? Many people run 120psi air pressure in pvc. Why couldn't a person make a small 8-10 psi pressure pot?

Any other info about your spray systems would be appreciated.

I ran shop air in PVC with a guy once and it got swapped out inside six months. I don't remember the exact issue as it was not my shop and the system should have been ok in theory. I think it had to do with the type of moving chunks in a failure of unknown cause. Just a heads up. If you use PVC, glue every joint yourself and trust no one.

I believe it's an AeroJet, model  RS1

a good way to get multiple guns for different finish types.

i wouldnt suggest pvc for a air line. i had it for awhile and came into the shop and had air blowing constant it had shattered at one of the turns.. the mainline blew apart.. mine was only 3/4" lines, but i have a friend in Missouri who had it happen on a 1.5" line in a large shop..  i switched mine out to copper.. he ran black pipe.

I had a rubber air hose that got left under pressure one Friday night. It blew over the weekend and the 5 hp compressor ran non stop all weekend . Cooked the head & gasket & valves and covered the shop in oil fog. Now we unplug the hoses and shut off the compressor every night.

I have the 3M PPS system and love it despite the price. It a has a lot of advantages including shoot at any angle, don't have to filter finishes, and cleanup is a breeze. Double check adapter for your gun.

I would consider the whip hose a needed accessory.

And if you're new to spraying a great book and DVD

Somehow I let this thread get away from my attention.

Do you have some pics (or vids) of your setup with the 3M add-ons?

Mike, what is a whip hose? Not the one that came with it? And + 1 on the book/DVD combo. Great info. And thanks to you on recommending it!

Thinner more flexible hose between the main hose and gun.

I use the PPS system too.  I don't reuse the liners.   I am too proud for sloppy seconds :)

I think Jeff Jewitt sells the fuji systems with an optional PPS upgrade.  homesteadfinishingproducts.com.

I bought my fuji from Jeff and a few months later bought all the PPS stuff on amazon and bought a lot of the wrong parts.   It is easier to just buy it all at once.

I bought a box of 100 liners and filters.  I will die of VOC exposure before I use them all.

The 3M PPS system sounds like a good way to go.

So I don't end up with wrong parts like mike did above, will the items I listed below from http://homesteadfinishingproducts.com/products-we-offer/hvlp-spray-equipment/fuji-spray/  be all I need to be ready to go?

Would it be a good idea to order 1 (or more) different size nozzle set(s)

#2904-T70 – $799.00 – (with 1000cc siphon style pressurized cup)

#H/O-PKG – $159.00 – includes 1 cup and collar, 25 lids and liners and #18 (suction), #24 or #2 (for gravity) adapter

#2049F – 6′ flex whip hose – $34.90

#2046 – quick disconnect – $5.00
